Ultra Clear / Low Iron Glass

Low Iron or Super Clear provides maximum transparency and clarity by providing a crystal-clear glass without the green tint usually found in standard float glass. This is achieved by removing the iron content from the glass during manufacture. The result is readily apparent with thick glass where the edges remain clear and colour transmittance is more accurately processed in the same way as standard float glass.

Super Clear is available in laminated, toughened and toughened laminated form. It is particularly useful when glass has an applied design or colour where light colours such as white remain true. Light transmission is also higher than standard glass which assists in the collection of solar energy. The sheer beauty of this product opens up a raft of new possibilities for architects and designers. The table below shows the light and solar transmission performance for Super Clear and standard float glass.

Features and benefits:

  • High clarity, crystal clear, low iron glass for special applications.
  • Very high light transmission of over 90%
  • High solar transmission for solar power
  • Can be toughened and laminated
  • Maintains colour consistency over the range of glass thickness
  • Used in Seraphic and very thick products such to minimise natural green tone

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that grips together when shattered i.e. in the incident of breaking, fragments held in place by an interlayer usually between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass glued even when broken, and its strength averts the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces.

Laminated glass offers high UV protection is also used for sound insulation and it also improves sound attenuation compared to monolithic glass panes of the same thickness. For this purpose, a special "acoustic PVB" compound is used for the interlayer Laminated glass is typically used when there is a possibility of human impact or where the glass could fall if shattered, Skylight glazing and automobile windshields typically use laminated glass.

Typical Uses:

  • Any safety glazing where distortion free glazing is required
  • Internal glazing, partitions
  • Low level glazing or where distortion free glazing is required
  • Overhead glazing.
  • Windows, doors and sidelights

Low-E (Energy Saver)

Low-E (low emissivity) coatings typically reflect heat both solar and ambient in order to help to keep a workspace, office or home cooler in the summer and reduce heat from escaping through the glass in the winter. The main objective of a low-E coating is to improve coziness while reducing energy costs which is achieved by reducing heat gain or loss by reflecting long-wave infrared energy (heat) and therefore decreasing the U-Value which improves energy efficiency.

The coatings are made up of a sequence of almost invisible layers of various materials to reflect exterior and interior heat. As well as reflecting heat, low-E coatings can also reduce damaging UV-rays thus working as a sunblock for artwork, furnishings and floors. Low-e laminate can reduce UV radiation by up to 99%, increasing the life of the furniture in your home or building With better insulation and improved solar control levels to keep your space working or living relaxed across all year. It can support in taking care the temperature of your room regulated, optimising your energy consumption and reducing the need for any additional heating and cooling. The high visible light reflectivity of the range allows natural light to flood into the room, making your space lighter and brighter. Offered in a variety of diverse tones to achieve different glass performance measures We offer both laminate and Monolithic option which can be toughened to achieve Grade A security

Luxeco

Energy efficiency is of vital importance, Natural light is the main constituent for making a relaxed and healthy home with current trends in housing is to increase the ratio of glass in the building cover to let in as much natural daylight as possible and to allow the sun ‘s warm rays in, but without sacrificing thermal insulation. Luxeco ideally combines these three features, which makes it suitable for low energy and passive housing. Luxeco double glazing units control the flow of heat in and out of your and allows you to have extensive glazing whilst still achieving an energy efficient home. High performances in double and triple glazing - extraordinarily high level of light transmission in triple glazing: approximately 74% - higher natural daylight and less unnecessary artificial lighting - higher level of transparency without disruptive reflections - increases comfort
